Pad Man box office collection day 13: Akshay Kumar’s film crosses Rs 75 crore mark

Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte starrer Pad Man is somehow managing to hold well in its second week at the box office. The social biographical drama raked in around Rs 1.05 crore yesterday and now stands with the grand total of Rs 75.70 crore. Looking at the current trend, Pad Man might end its theatrical run around the vicinity of around Rs 80 to Rs 85 crore. Since Welcome to New York and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety are arriving at the box office, Pad Man will hardly have any screens to perform at the ticket window.

While the film has performed decently well in the multiplexes in the metro cities but the collections in the single screens were below expectations. Compare to other films of Akshay Kumar, Pad Man has not able earn that well due to its unconventional and unusual plot which has very limited appeal. Pad Man also features Sonam Kapoor in a pivotal role with a cameo of megastar Amitabh Bachchan. The film has made decent business in the international markets and with the help of that, it has crossed Rs 150 crore mark at the worldwide box office. Pad Man is directed by R Balki, who previously helmed films like Ki And Ka, Paa, Shamitabh and Cheeni Kum. Interestingly his every film features Amitabh Bachchan either as the main lead or as a cameo. Looking at the scenario, it seems Pad Man will struggle to enter the Rs 100 crore club at the ticket window.
